I made a quilt for each of my boys with jeans and flannel shirt that were theirs. I also used their dads, mine and additional store purchased flannel. I sew the 6 inches squares with a raw edge without batting. The middle is cotton with flannel on the back. If you don't want to quilt, you could make a shaggy quilt.Shelinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09870112367076954109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31267521.post-1158908914403827432006-09-22T02:08:00.000-05:002006-09-22T02:08:00.000-05:00I think it's a great idea - especially if you put ...I think it's a great idea - especially if you put in some work shirts or some plaids from goodwill. It will probably be tough to work with - espeically if the fabrics are different weights, but if you quilt it with straight lines, that should be easy enough! I say use a little batting. Old clothes, etc., were how people used to make their utility quilts! Sometimes we get so caught up in buying new fabric these days! I think I remember one of the Gee's Bend quilts was made from all old work clothes. Good luck!Hedgehoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03457631974666183374noreply@blogger.com
